Brian Shea

Co-founder & Principal

 
 

Brian Shea conceptualizes, manages, and directly supports a diverse set of consulting and analytic services programs for an equally diverse set of public- and private-sector clients. Brian leads Simon Everett’s defense, security, & intelligence; organizational consulting; and branding & communications portfolios. He works with the firm’s staff and consultant network to help federal agencies, state government offices, and business executives improve plans, processes, and communications through highly structured, analytically driven projects. He particularly enjoys designing and facilitating interactive workshops and helping others find professional fulfillment. 

Prior to founding Simon Everett with Dan, Brian served in senior roles at several Washington, DC-area consultancies. He led the intelligence practice of the technology and consulting firm Detica, Inc., where he served on the senior management committee and continued to manage several programs after the firm’s acquisition by BAE Systems. He was recruited to serve on the initial management team of the security and technology consulting firm Aveshka and was instrumental in securing and managing the company’s first contract. Brian also led multiple analytic projects and teams at DFI International, a boutique strategy and policy consulting firm. Directly before launching Simon Everett, Brian led the Government Services practice at Eurasia Group, a leading global political risk consultancy, where he developed and managed the firm's engagements with US and foreign public sector clients.

Prior to his consulting career, Brian served in the US Air Force for twelve years as a Military Language Instructor and Cryptologic Language Analyst supporting operations specific to counterterrorism and foreign military intelligence analysis. He is an advanced-proficiency Arabic graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, was selected for unique interagency counterterrorism assignments based on his linguistic and technical expertise, and has been certified as a Professionalized Voice and Graphic Language Analyst by the National Security Agency.
